welcome to easy's caprese salad loungeArm River Track Hike
Last weekend Dad and I hiked to Pelion Hut via the Arm River Track.
The weather was forecast to be overcast and light showers for all 3 days – but I have never had such great weather up in the highlands. Max of 13-14 degs and almost no wind.
On the Friday we walked in via the Arm River Track, about a 10-11km walk in the end.
We eventually found a camp spot just outside Pelion Hut.
Saturday was another day of great weather, and so we walked up Mt Pelion East.
A trickier scramble up to the top than I expected.
Dad and I had a good 45 minutes at the top to ourselves overlooking Mount Ossa, Kia Ora hut, Lees Paddocks, Mt Pillinger and Cradle Mountain in the distance.
Dad and I had both climbed Mount Ossa before and we both thought the view was better off Pelion East than Ossa.
Accessing camp involved crossing the creek.
A laminated list of what was in my pack and where was a golden ticket idea. Will definitely do again.
